The day apple introduced iphone 6 it silently strangled ipod
classic to its death..............so what really happened?
Ipod was a music revolution of our modern generation as walkman
was to the generation before us and the ipod’s time has arrived where it has to
exit the scene gracefully. Modern gadgets where the have the ability to play music,
surf the web, send emails, take picture.....yes, the iphones and ipads have
been slowly killing the ipod for quiet sometime now and its clearly visible now
as ipod generate less than a billion dollars for apple compared to upside of 50
and 26 billion dollars generated by iphone and ipad respectively......but steve
jobs knew about the extinction of ipod when he introduced iphone as saying “iphone
is the best ipod we have ever created”
the colourful and elegant devices show us how the music has
to be listened have been the base on which the modern gadget revolution took
place which seemed unrecognizable if you compare it to a decade ago........sure
the ipod touch, nano and shuffle are still alive but the killing of ipod
classic is a sign that even these devices will not exist a year from now as
they generate less and less money by day and apple doesn’t deal in pennies and
will kill them off as their sales go down the tipping point
but whatever maybe the case....these were amazing devices
which changed the entire music industry and fought off the music piracy demon
which was killing the music business and gave lots of people some pretty
musical time and was their constant companion.....we salute you.....IPOD
the ipod's identity will soon be erased and will only live as an app in the iphone called as the ipod
