Released in Japan
as PS vita TV last November, this device is coming to US and other countries
this month but what is this device and what does it do?
Playstation tv
is simply a playstation vita handheld console without the screen and with some
added new features. This small device connects to your hdtv via hdmi cable and
will let you play vita games on a 50 inch screen instead of a six inch screen. The
launch of this micro console is being dubbed as Sony’s failure to stay alive in
the handheld gaming market dominated by Nintendo and smartphones. Interestingly playstation tv can be used with
a dualshock 3 or the latest ps4’s dualshock 4 controller to play the games
This device
is compatible with the remote play feature of the playstation consoles where in
a ps3 or a ps4 will stream a certain game to the ps tv, psp, ps vita or
playstation certified smartphone like xperia z3 and you can play the full
console game on the handheld tiny screen or in this case a tv connected to ps
tv. but the killer feature which will compel me to by this device is the
playstation now service where the ps tv is connected to a remote server which
streams games to your micro console though a LAN network or a wifi network and
a full list of ps3 games, certain ps4 titles and pc titles can be played on the
ps tv connected to your tv
Playstation tv
costs $99 and will be out on 14th October in US and November 14th
on Europe and Australia. Review is pending
