Undoubtely, Cristiano Ronaldo is the best positioned to get it again. In spite of his discreet performance with Portugal last FIFA World Cup in Brazil, the "Madridista" player keeps pulverizing records with his club.
He is the higher scorer of "La Liga" with 15 goals in 8 matches -almost 2 in each one-. Moreover, he won "La Copa del Rey", "Champions League" and "Europe Supercup" with R.Madrid this year.
Nowadays, everybody knows that portuguese player is indispensable for his club, not only by his goals, but his charisma and personality on the ground.
From a few years ago, Cristiano is not only a scorer but a true captain: he assists in defense, support his partners, leads to the whole team. He has become a team player, far away from the loner image in his first season.
On the other hand, Lionel Messi have had hard times this year. His team had not a good season with "Tata" Martino at the "azulgrana" bench Messi was disappeared.
In the FIFA World Cup, he improved but not enough. However, he was awarded like best player of the tournament.
In this early rounds, he is about to reach his old good form, but a lot of people still think he is far away from it and is more likely the trophy goes to Ronaldo again.
Anyway, we still have three months to see what these players are able to do and finally, to be capable to decide
who deserves it.
