First lumia phone without nokia branding

Although not the first phone to release after the acquisition of Microsoft, lumia 535 phone marks the death of nokia in the Smartphone segment.

Microsoft unveiled its lumia branded 535 phone which is aimed at the low end category replacing a very recently released nokia lumia 530. This 5 inch display phone is by no means a stellar phone but its significance in marking the end of a era of a great phone company which was a market leader and innovator in the phone industry.

Although nokia name will be alive in the feature phone segment where it still is the leader in india and brazil, it is slowly losing the steam to the smartphone which destroyed the likes of blackberry, Motorola and sony ericsson.

As far as the phone is concerned, lumia 535 will be the first phone with Microsoft branded lumia phone and the first to come out in a series of phones. Its specifications are very low end with a 5 inch screen that has a resolution of 960 x 540. A 1.2 ghz snapdragon 200 processor but the best part is that it comes with the latest windows 8.1 preloaded with all the goodies including office

The design is not too different from other lumia phones sticking to the tried and tested colourful plastic design. Costing at just $135 this phone will be an interesting alternative to the android.
