Samsung is taking the mobile display segment to the extreme

Samsung is reportedly working on a 4k display for it note 5 mobile set to release next year

Rumours are being circulating that Samsung has readied its cutting edge 4k mobile display which measures 5.9 inches diagonally. Samsung was the one who was never to be left behind in the specs race has come up with a killer display and this display will enter into mass production stage early next year.

But the display race has gone too far with most manufacturers trying to fit in more number of pixels into their screens. Theoretically, a full hd display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution is required by the naked eye to differentiate the pixels and packing more that that will not be of much use.

Lg was the one to introduce the 2k display with is LG G3 mobile and Samsung followed suit with its note 4 featuring similar display. Motorola too wanted a piece of pie and introduces droid turbo and nexus 6 with 2k displays.

It would be nice to see if the manufactures left the pixel race and concentrated on other parameters of the display such as viewing angles, contrast ratio and anti reflection properties in bright light. One of the most wanted features of this generation of devices is a better battery life with most devices coming up with one day of usage on a full charge. I would also like to see a bigger batter which will power the device for a week rather than hours

what do you think?
